Who Are We??

Well.......

CHRIS BURCH

Balloon Artist, Comedy Magician, Story Teller, Face Painter AND Santa

Twisted Dog Productions is the brainchild of Chris "Professor Twist" Burch and Laurie "Myka-Angelo" Burch.

Chris found his love for magic at the age of seven when he learned his first trick. Over the next several years he honed his craft until finding theater in high school, it was there that he discovered a knack for acting and improvisation. While working with a local dinner theater he began entertaining as Tater the Clown. This lead him down the path to becoming a Balloon Artist, then eventually a Face Painter. He had the opportunity to meet a wide variety of entertainers in his travels in the Navy, and he decided to always learn something from all of his encounters.

It was while in the Navy he met his future wife and partner, Laurie. Upon his departure from the service, he moved to Laurie's home state of North Carolina where he continued to entertain. Not long after, they relocated to Chris' home city of Birmingham where they embarked on a new journey of Balloon Art and Magic with the creation of Chris' newest personality and alter ego, Professor Twist. While in Alabama, they developed new stage shows and began entertaining at fairs, festivals, and libraries around the southeast. Chris developed a unique take on storytelling by integrating Volunteers, Balloon Art, Improv, Magic and Comedy into a concept he named Fairy Tales With A Twist. Originally developed as a way to encourage children to read, it quickly grew to cover so many other topics. Chris returned to North Carolina in 2009 with his wife/partner in crime, and their son (bio coming soon).

LAURIE BURCH

Face Painter, Balloon Artist, Show Tech,

Coolest Woman under 5 Foot Tall in North Carolina

Laurie is a reformed attorney, classically trained musician, incredible dermal artist, and pretty cool gal. After years of sitting on the sidelines running the business, helping Chris come up with some of his crazy ideas, and helping him flesh out his storytelling, she thought it was time to be more than just the pretty face behind the scenes! She wanted to be more directly involved with the business and decided to learn Balloon Art and Face Painting from a Master in the craft, failing to find one, she turned to her husband Chris instead. Although she'll never be the magician her husband is (in truth, he couldn't get through a magic show without her tech help), she can definitely hold her own as a basic Balloon Artist, and in certain areas surpasses her instructor as a Face Painter. Folks calling in will often talk to her, and she has 20 years of experience in helping individuals and businesses get what they need!

Whether in Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Kernersville, or basically anywhere in the state of North Carolina, as well as parts of Virginia and South Carolina, they are a force to be reckoned with. They've taught Ballon Art and Magic at summer camps, provided decor for countless events, and developed new shows and news styles of balloons to amaze and astound. Additionally, they have written for various trade publications. Whether hired as a team or individually, they don't disappoint.

Great entertainment doesn't happen by accident. It takes years of practice, attention to detail, dedication to your clients and, sometimes, a little luck.
